We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our data engineering team on a contract basis. This is a work-from-home/Hybrid role suited for professionals who are technically strong and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams and customers.

About the Role

You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing existing data pipelines and collaborating closely with the implementation team to design and deliver custom ETL workflows for new customers. This role requires excellent technical expertise combined with strong communication skills, as you will work with internal stakeholders and customer-facing teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance Python-based ETL pipelines and data workflows
• Collaborate with implementation and customer-facing teams to build and deploy new pipelines
• Clearly communicate technical concepts, progress, and issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Write clean, efficient, and well-tested Python code following best practices
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data processing performance and reliability

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining data pipelines
• 2+ years of production-level Python development experience
• Strong ability to design flexible and reusable ETL solutions
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and software engineering best practices
• Experience supporting production data systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with serverless architectures on AWS
• Experience with Databricks or Airflow
• Experience in customer-facing implementation or onboarding roles
