Job Description

Responsibilities:

Implement best practices for database management, ensuring optimal performance and

availability.

A passion for staying updated with the latest industry trends, best practices, and

emerging technologies in database administration and automation.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively

with cross-functional teams.

Lead efforts to optimize database performance and resource utilization.

Develop and maintain database monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify

and address issues.

Investigate and resolve complex database-related issues, providing technical expertise

and guidance to the team.

Design and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity

and availability.

Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory

requirements and internal policies.

Passionate about integrating AI-driven insights to build self-healing database

infrastructures and autonomous tuning pipelines.

Mentor and guide junior database engineers to build a high-performing team.

Participate in on-call rotations and provide support for database-related incidents.

Flexible and adaptable to work across time zones.

Requirements:

Primary Skills:

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or equivalent experience

6+ years of experience in database management, administration, and performance

optimization

Must have expertise in building, configuring, securing, and managing MySQL to ensure

optimal performance

Experience in large-scale cloud deployments with expertise in AWS, with Azure or GCP

as a bonus

Proficiency in cloud-native database technologies like RDS and Aurora.

Advanced knowledge of database security, backup, recovery, replication, and

performance monitoring

Expertise in setting up database metric dashboards and alerts using tools such as PMM,

New Relic, or Vivid Cortex

Ability to learn ML model to support database cases

High Availability solutions expertise such as Orchestrator or Failover Clusters.

Should possess scripting skills such as Bash, Python or Ruby for automating database

operations

Strong understanding of database design, implementation, troubleshooting, and

maintenance

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills:

Experience with PostgreSQL or MongoDB would be an added advantage

Basic exposure to configuration management tools like Chef/Puppet

Familiarity with Terraform for database changes

Experience with using GitHub for version control and collaboration
