Are You The One
As a Senior Data Analytics Engineer, you will embed with Operations, Finance Operations, and Compliance teams to eliminate manual work, reduce operational risk, and build audit-ready data products on MatchMoves AWS-native lakehouse.
Responsibilities
Operational Data Products
- Architect Trust: Design and build curated S3 table-based datasets for transaction/ledger reconciliations and settlement comparisons.
- Eliminate Manual Toil: Convert repetitive operational tasks and Excel-heavy workflows into Airflow-orchestrated pipelines with clear exception handling.
- Audit Readiness: Build versioned snapshots and investigation timelines that provide defensible evidence for regulators and auditors.
Finance & Compliance Enablement
- Unit Economics: Partner with Finance Ops to automate margin analysis and vendor invoice validation.
- Lineage & Logic: Ensure all reported numbers are backed by transparent business logic and clear data lineage.
Governance & Security
- Strict Controls: Implement Row-Level (RLS) and Column-Level Security (CLS) using AWS Lake Formation.
- Quality Assurance: Build automated checks for data completeness, freshness, and reconciliation totals.
- Influence: Act as a role model, moving business teams away from ad-hoc queries toward durable, engineering-grade solutions.
Requirements
Experience & Domain Knowledge
- 610+ years in Data or Analytics Engineering, with a strong preference for Fintech, Payments, or Banking.
- Proven track record of solving ambiguous operational problems with automated, robust solutions.
Technical Mastery
- Expert SQL & Modeling: Deep experience building deterministic, reproducible datasets for financial events (balances, settlements, transactions).
- AWS Native Stack: Hands-on experience with S3, Glue, and CDC/DMS in a lakehouse environment.
- Orchestration: Proficiency in Airflow (or equivalent) for managing complex, interdependent data flows.
- Security First: Strong understanding of data masking, least-privilege models, and Lake Formation access controls.
Soft Skills
- Cross-Functional Influence: Ability to translate operational pain into technical specs and explain data trade-offs to Finance and Compliance leaders.
- Engineering Discipline: Rigorous approach to version control, documentation, and production reliability.
