Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead Power BI & Data Solutions Engineer to build high-performance, bespoke analytical ecosystems. This is not just a report builder role; you will be responsible for the entire data lifecycle—from extracting data via APIs and managing SQL databases to designing sophisticated Power BI architectures.

The priority for this role is Data Reliability. You will develop custom solutions that consolidate multiple sources into a single, redundant, and always-on reporting layer that meets the highest enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Custom Data Architecture: Design and maintain bespoke data models that aggregate information from diverse sources including SQL Server, REST APIs, and Cloud Data Lakes.
• Advanced Power BI Development: Build complex, high-performance dashboards using advanced DAX and Power Query (M). Focus on report speed, scalability, and intuitive UX/UI.
• API Integration: Develop and maintain connections to third-party web services and internal APIs to ensure a seamless, automated flow of data.
• Database Management: Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views to ensure the underlying data layer is robust and efficient.
• High Redundancy & Availability: Implement data refresh strategies (Incremental Refresh, Dataflows) to ensure reports are Always-On and reflect real-time or near-real-time business reality.
• Rigorous QA & Validation: Execute deep-dive data reconciliation to ensure the numbers in Power BI perfectly match the source systems.
• High-Quality Documentation: Deliver comprehensive technical documentation, data dictionaries, and architectural diagrams in professional English.

Expert in Power BI Desktop/Service, DAX, Power Query (M), and Dataflows.

SQL Mastery

Advanced T-SQL (Stored Procedures, CTEs, Indexing, and Query Optimization).

API Connectivity

Experience consuming REST APIs and handling JSON/XML data structures.

Data Modeling

Expertise in Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and many-to-many relationship handling.

Data Engineering

Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data redundancy principles.

Project Execution Process (Data-Centric)

1. Requirement Scoping: Mapping all client data points and identifying Source of Truth for each KPI.
2. Schema Design: Defining the SQL/Dataverse structures and API authentication methods.
3. Development & Redundancy: Building the data pipeline with failover measures (e.g., cached datasets if an API is throttled).
4. UAT & QA: Full-scale validation of data accuracy across different timeframes and filters.
5. Professional Handover: Delivering the final Power BI App/Workspace along with a technical Data Map in English.
