Job Description
The Senior Data Engineer designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines and DataMart to support INSEAD's business intelligence and analytics platform. This role owns end-to-end ETL/ELT delivery-from requirements through production support-ensuring solutions meet architectural standards for reliability, performance, and security. The position works closely with the BI Lead, Project Manager, System Analyst, and infrastructure and cybersecurity teams, and contributes to continuous improvement of the data engineering stack and practices.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain end-to-end ETL/ELT solutions based on requirements agreed with the BI Project Manager and System Analyst.
- Develop and evolve Datamarts using dimensional modeling; integrate multiple data sources into cohesive, maintainable ETL flows (Qlik Talend; SSIS for legacy workloads).
- Ensure scalability, security, and performance through monitoring, tuning, and optimization as data volumes grow; manage code via Git and TMC; evaluate and adopt improvements (e.g., Microsoft Fabric) where relevant.
- Follow INSEAD delivery and change-management processes: participate in Scrum ceremonies, contribute to design reviews, and present significant changes to CAB; partner with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to reduce data exposure risk and maintain audit-ready ETL checklists and matrices.
- Collaborate across departments to deliver high-quality data engineering solutions; take strong ownership of scope, timelines, and quality, and align delivery with the BI Project Manager.
- Stay current on data engineering technologies (e.g., Azure, Databricks, Snowflake) and share recommendations to improve the BI platform; maintain clear documentation and provide ongoing support to enhance Datamart and BI efficiency.
