Role Summary

Delta Air Lines is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Data Analyst to join their HR innovation and employee experience team. This role is perfect for someone with a deep understanding of data modelling best practices, strong technical skills, and business acumen, as well as the ability to learn complex data models and apply that knowledge to solve real-world business challenges. You will work on the development of data models to integrate, aggregate, and harmonize HR data from various sources, while driving the migration to modern platforms like Python and AWS. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including analysts, data scientists, and marketing stakeholders, to ensure the seamless delivery of reliable and scalable data solutions.

Responsibilities

Data Architecture and Optimization:

  • Optimize complex queries and data models to support enterprise-level analytics and reporting.
  • Drive best practices in data modeling, performance tuning, and system scalability.

Data Integration And Strategy

  • Lead efforts to integrate and harmonize data from multiple HR and business systems into unified datasets.
  • Design advanced transformation, enrichment, and reconciliation processes to ensure comprehensive and consistent data views across domains.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define data standards, KPIs, and integration strategies.

Data Quality, Governance, And Monitoring

  • Establish and oversee data validation, reconciliation, and monitoring frameworks to maintain data integrity and reliability.
  • Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues related to data quality, latency, or performance.
  • Contribute to data governance policies, metadata management, and compliance initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration And Stakeholder Management

  • Partner closely with analysts, data scientists, engineers, and business leaders to understand analytical needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable data products and analytical frameworks.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior analysts on best practices in data analysis and engineering.

Tooling, Automation, And Cloud Solutions

  • Lead the adoption and optimization of cloud-based data platforms and automation frameworks (e.g., AWS, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks).
  • Streamline existing data workflows and implement automated quality checks and monitoring dashboards.
  • Evaluate and implement new tools or technologies to enhance data efficiency and accessibility.

Documentation And Standards

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of data pipelines, architecture, and workflows for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Champion version control, security, and data governance best practices across projects.

Innovation And Continuous Improvement

  • Stay ahead of emerging trends, tools, and technologies in data engineering, analytics, and visualization.
  • Recommend and implement innovative approaches to improve scalability, performance, and analytical capabilities of data systems.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance data literacy and self-service analytics across the organization

What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • in data analytics.
  • for complex queries and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of Medallion architecture and modern data modeling.
  • Intermediate Python for data transformation and automation.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS stack (Athena, Redshift, S3) and reporting tools (QuickSight or equivalent).
  • Ability to work with large, complex datasets and deliver accurate, timely solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working as an SAP HANA modeler, including developing and consuming HANA views and writing optimized SQL / SQLScript queries in SAP HANA Studio or equivalent tools.
  • Experience integrating SAP HANA–based datasets with downstream analytics platforms (e.g., AWS, Redshift, Snowflake, BI tools).

  • Hands on Experience with Dashboarding e.g Quicksight
  • Desired experience working with HR Data
  • Experience working with Glue/Lambda to develop data pipelines
  • Experience working with DBT
  • Experience working as an SAP HANA modeler
