Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft Sentinel SIEM solutions
Onboard and normalize log sources including Azure, M365, Windows, Linux, firewalls, IAM, EDR, and third-party tools
Configure data connectors, custom log ingestion, and parsers
Optimize data retention, cost management, and performance
Develop and optimize KQL queries for threat detection, hunting, dashboards, and alerts
Create and maintain analytic rules, scheduled queries, and near real-time detections
Tune alerts to reduce false positives and improve signal-to-noise ratio
Support threat hunting activities using advanced KQL techniques
Build and enhance workbooks, dashboards, and visualizations
Design and maintain SOAR playbooks using Logic Apps
Integrate Sentinel with security tools such as Defender, Intune, MDE, identity systems, and ticketing tools
Participate in incident investigation and post-incident reviews
Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Defender suite (MDE, MDI, MDC, Defender for Cloud)
SOC or incident response background
Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python – basic to intermediate)
Experience with SOAR, automation, or Logic Apps
Certifications such as:
Microsoft SC-200 (Security Operations Analyst)
AZ-500 / AZ-900
CompTIA Security+ / CySA+
