Where You'll Make a Difference
- Understand local and international trade related laws and regulations while monitoring, tracking and reporting metrics.
- Oversee and communicate regulatory changes and develop best practices for compliance and proactively engage on advocacy opportunities.
- Provide customs and trade related advice to the business on daily basis, including but not limited to HS code classification, origin topics, Inco-terms, special customs procedures, assist with regional export control and sanctions, including due diligence, denied parties screening and licensing determination.
- Lead and participate communication with local Customs when required.
- Support business projects and develop compliant trade solutions aligned with requirements (i.e. special economic zone, trusted trade initiatives, authorizations, permits, etc.).
- Drive cost savings, especially in customs duty savings from FTAs, duty incentives and other programs.
- Lead internal and external trade related audits.
- Develop, document and maintain operational processes and procedures.
- Conduct training to internal customers and improve awareness of trade regulations.
What Makes You The Right Fit
- Bachelor's Degree in Customs, International Trade, Logistics or any other relevant discipline.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in import and export operation.
- Strong knowledge of customs and excise procedures in India and APAC region.
- Capability to develop and apply statistical and computer skills including MS Office and PowerBI.
- Good networking skills, along with verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong sense of leadership, teamwork and high ethical standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to travel.
How Would You Stand Out
- SAP experience is preferred.
- Recognized Customs training and/or certifications is preferred.
