About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Cost Engineer to lead cost optimization initiatives across automotive, aerospace, medical, and energy domains. This role involves product teardown, should-cost analysis, VAVE workshops, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver value engineering and supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Product Teardown and Should-Cost Analysis for:
- Automotive & Energy Equipment
- PCB/PCBA, Wire Harness
- Tooling, Dies, and Mold Costing
- Lead VAVE workshops to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Partner with design, sourcing, and suppliers to optimize product cost
- Provide early cost estimation for new product development
- Analyze supplier quotes and manufacturing processes for cost validation
- Drive localization strategies and supply chain cost reduction
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, or Industrial Engineering
- Experience: 38 years in Cost Engineering within Automotive, Medical, or Energy sectors
- Expertise in electromechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and cost modeling
- Hands-on experience in costing for:
- Stamping, Injection Molding, Die Casting, Forging, Machining
- Secondary finishing processes
- Proficiency in VAVE, cost modeling tools, and supplier negotiations
- Familiarity with COTS tools like Siemens TcPCM, aPriori, SEER
