Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Basis Lead / Senior Consultant to manage and oversee the end-to-end SAP Basis operations across a broad SAP landscape, including S/4HANA, ECC, PI/PO, GRC, Solution Manager, Fiori, Web Dispatchers, and cloud connectors. The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience with both on-premise and cloud-based SAP solutions, including SAC, BTP, IAS/IPS, IBP, C4C, and C4E, and possess strong technical expertise in high availability and disaster recovery (HA-DR) on Azure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations and administration of SAP systems, ensuring system health, performance, and availability across multiple landscapes.
- Provide hands-on support and configuration for both on-premise and cloud-based SAP solutions, including SAC, BTP, IAS/IPS, IBP, C4C, and C4E.
- Administer HA-DR environments on Azure hyperscaler, ensuring DR readiness and regular failover testing.
- Conduct proactive monitoring, log analysis, and performance tuning to prevent outages or performance degradation.
- Execute SAP technical maintenance activities:
- Kernel upgrades
- Support Package updates
- OSS Note implementation
- System refreshes and client copies
- Transport management and troubleshooting
- Manage job scheduling and monitoring using SAP Solution Manager or external scheduling tools.
- Perform and support SAP HANA and MS SQL Server database administration tasks.
- Lead and participate in incident, problem, and change management using tools like ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM platforms.
- Conduct monthly system health checks, capacity planning, and maintain a roadmap for system enhancements.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and SAP functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operations.
- Mentor and review work of junior Basis consultants; support their technical and professional development.
- Create and maintain operational documentation, SOPs, system architecture diagrams, and runbooks.
- Ensure audit readiness by enforcing security hardening, patching, and system compliance protocols.
- Support SAP Security teams in resolving issues related to user management, role authorizations, and GRC compliance.
- Coordinate with SAP for OSS incidents, solution optimization, and system improvements.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents and define preventive measures.
- Manage planned/unplanned downtimes, including stakeholder communication and technical coordination.
- Continuously improve alerting and monitoring systems to ensure proactive issue detection.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
- 812 years of SAP Basis experience, including at least 35 years in a lead or senior role
- Strong experience with S/4HANA, ECC, SAP PI/PO, GRC, SolMan, Fiori, Web Dispatchers
- Hands-on exposure to SAP Cloud solutions: SAC, BTP, IAS/IPS, IBP, C4C, C4E
- Proven knowledge of HA-DR setups on Azure or similar hyperscaler environments
- Expertise in SAP HANA and MS SQL Server database administration
- Experience in ITSM tools like ServiceNow, and solid understanding of ITIL processes
- Experience working with compliance audits, system security, and data protection standards
