Established over twenty years ago, we are a growing Melbourne head quartered Software Consultancy with a core focus of delivering business-critical digital products to our clients. Our teams work alongside our customers to dissect their complex problems and convert them into value-driven solutions, combining innovative principles in development, design, analysis and quality automation. We utilise Design Thinking and Agile practices to rapidly create customer and business first software, testing and embracing new technologies and trends along the way.

This role is a full-time remote Contractor position for offshore candidates. You'll work with our onshore and/or offshore teams on existing and new projects. Payment is based on an AUD daily rate and actual working days, excluding public holidays and leave. Typical working hours are 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Starting early in your local time is preferred to allow better collaboration with the client and team.

Your Key Responsibilities As a Senior Consultant-BA At Fabric

Mentoring (Delivery team)

  • Champion best practices in agile software delivery

Capability Development (Consulting, BA, Discovery)

  • Internal development of BA/PM capability within Fabric
  • Primary focus on the BA role

Manage Product/Delivery engagement

  • Hands-on as a senior BA in engagements where depth of experience is required (This may sometimes mean you are the only BA on the project)
  • A thorough understanding of agility and iterative delivery of complex software products
  • Should have demonstrable hands on experience in delivering projects iteratively preferably having experience in various delivery frameworks
  • Help coach-client product owner in their day to day activities (Prioritisation, Stakeholder management, etc)
  • Help Elicit and capture requirements
  • Work with delivery teams to constantly groom the backlog in a value focused manner

Consulting

  • Provide deep experience and trusted advice to our clients in the areas of business analysis, product ownership and agile delivery management
  • Take an active role on Fabric Discovery engagements (Ideation/POC/Discovery)

And as Senior Consultant:

  • Take a senior role on Fabric delivery and consulting engagements and lead the team
  • Participate in interviewing and recruitment
  • Collaborate and contribute to the Fabric business strategy and execution
  • Take an active role in discovery & inception sessions
  • Develop delivery plans, project estimates and statements of work for delivery engagements
  • Balance our client's business goals with customer needs and pains, market fit and technical feasibility
  • Prioritise workload to meet agreed timeframes
  • Be highly communicative and collaborative – be able to clearly communicate your ideas to everyone
  • Become a trusted advisor to our customer

Other:

  • Support QA work on project if necessary

The skills you would need to be a Senior Consultant-BA:

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in various Agile methodologies. Understand the Agile principles and values and be capable of tailoring Agile practices to suit the specific needs of the organisation
  • Proficient in writing clear, concise, and testable user stories that represent user needs and requirements, such as acceptance criteria, splitting and merging. Competent in backlog management, prioritisation techniques, and ensuring that the team focuses on delivering value to customers
  • Skilled in facilitating sprint planning meetings to establish achievable goals for each iteration. Conduct effective retrospectives to identify areas of improvement and enhance team performance
  • Possess strong collaboration and facilitation skills to work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, designers, and product owners, to ensure a shared understanding of requirements and project goals
  • Analytical thinking with system analysis skills such as data mapping, xml scheme, json, etc.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools, enabling the team to frequently and reliably release software iterations to production.
  • Agile environments often involve changing requirements and priorities. Being adaptable and flexible helps in responding effectively to evolving situations
  • Embrace a culture of continuous improvement and iteration. Encourage feedback loops to quickly respond to changes and deliver better outcomes
  • Contributing to the overall success of projects and initiatives
