//Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and design-driven senior interior designer/architect to join our team in Mumbai.

This role requires someone with strong conceptual thinking, refined design sensibility, and the technical capability to carry a project from concept to completion with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 8-10 years of experience working on high-end interior and architectural projects, can lead design packages confidently and thrives in a collaborative yet fast-paced environment.

This is a hands-on role for someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly, coordinates effectively with consultants and consistently delivers thoughtful, well-resolved work.

//Key Responsibilities

1. Concept development and design direction

  • Lead the creation of strong, contextually grounded concepts for interior and architectural projects
  • Develop mood boards, design narratives, space planning options, and early-stage visualisations
  • Present design ideas confidently to the founder, internal team and clients

2. Design packages and technical drawings

  • Produce and oversee comprehensive drawing sets across concept, schematic, and detailed design stages
  • Ensure all design details, material specifications, and technical solutions are well-resolved and aligned with project intent
  • Review and refine drawings prepared by junior designers and draftsmen

3. Project leadership and coordination

  • Take charge of assigned projects, ensuring design quality, accuracy and timely delivery
  • Coordinate directly with consultants (MEP, structural, lighting, landscape), suppliers, and contractors
  • Lead or support client meetings, ensuring all design updates are clear, structured and professionally communicated

4. Material research and specification

  • Source materials, finishes, fixtures, furniture, lighting and design elements aligned with the project's vision
  • Prepare FF&E schedules and specification packages with accuracy and clarity
  • Manage samples, approvals and coordination with suppliers.

5. Site reviews and quality control

  • Conduct site visits to verify design implementation and address discrepancies early
  • Liaise with contractors to resolve technical issues and ensure adherence to design intent
  • Provide marked-up drawings, clarifications, and site instructions when required

6. Team collaboration and mentorship

  • Work closely with the founder, project manager and technical team to maintain workflow efficiency
  • Guide and mentor junior designers where needed, ensuring consistency and quality
  • Participate actively in internal design reviews, bringing constructive and thoughtful feedback

7. Presentation and documentation

  • Prepare compelling presentations, reports, and design documentation for clients and internal reviews
  • Ensure all deliverables are organised, complete and aligned with project milestones
  • Support in competition entries, RFP submissions, and portfolio materials when required.

//Personality and work style:

  • Strong design intuition and passion for materials, craftsmanship and spatial storytelling
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to move between conceptual and technical thinking seamlessly
  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Confident communicator with excellent organisation and follow-through
  • Comfortable taking initiative, solving problems, and operating with a sense of ownership
  • Collaborative, open to feedback, and committed to design excellence
