Simaero is a global provider of flight simulator training to airlines, training organizations, and commercial pilots. As we embark on a major digital transformation, we are moving our infrastructure to a modern Hybrid Cloud environment to support a new AI-first SaaS platform.
Taking a significant step towards enhanced pilot training in India, Simaero India is establishing an 8-bay, EASA & DGCA India ATO approved Full Flight Simulator (FFS) facility. Expected to open soon, this comprehensive center boasts a convenient location just 15 minutes from New Delhi's IGI Airport. The facility will feature advanced simulators alongside a dedicated classroom with Computer-Based Training (CBT) for a thorough training experience.
As our Senior Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be the Guardian of our infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing and building our AWS Landing Zone, managing our hybrid identity with Microsoft Entra ID, and ensuring our global data remains secure and compliant. You will lay the foundation that allows our developers and AI agents to operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure as Code
- Design and build a secure, compliant AWS Landing Zone from scratch, ensuring best practices in networking (VPC) and compute (EKS/ECS).
- Own the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategy using Terraform. You will ensure all infrastructure is versioned, reproducible, and automatedno manual console management.
- Implement and manage container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes to host internal applications and automation workflows.
Security, Identity & Compliance
- Configure and manage AWS IAM Identity Center with Microsoft Entra ID to ensure seamless, secure Single Sign-On (SSO) across our environment.
- Enforce Data Sovereignty and governance policies (via AWS Organizations & SCPs) to ensure flight training data resides in legally required regions.
- Implement Security by Design, managing encryption, secrets, and access controls for a highly regulated aviation environment.
Data Infrastructure & DevOps
- Architect the storage lifecycle management for our Unstructured Vaults (S3) and structured Data Warehouses (Redshift/RDS), ensuring data is ready for AI and Analytics.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) to automate testing and deployment for the development team.
- Act as a technical mentor and enabler, building guardrails that allow the team to move fast without breaking security.
Your Profile
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical field.
- 7+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering or DevOps, with deep expertise in AWS.
- Mastery of Terraform is non-negotiable; you think in code.
- Strong experience with Identity Federation (OIDC/SAML), specifically connecting AWS with Microsoft Entra ID.
- Solid background in Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD automation.
- Experience managing Hybrid Data Architectures, connecting cloud infrastructure to external SaaS or legacy data sources.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
- Structured, proactive, and security-minded, with a strong sense of ownership over the platform's reliability.
