Position: Senior Cloud Developer (Data)– Bengaluru (Hybrid)
Job Details
As a Senior Cloud Developer, you will act as a core engine for our cloud platform, designing and implementing highly scalable, resilient, and secure AWS infrastructure. You will champion automation by driving GitOps patterns, managing Kubernetes environments, and embedding deep observability into our ecosystem. Additionally, you will bridge the gap between cloud infrastructure and data platforms, designing reliable data streaming pipelines and optimization frameworks to support high-throughput data engineering workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Automate Infrastructure: Design and maintain infrastructure using Terraform via GitOps continuous delivery workflows.
- Manage Containerization: Architect, scale, and optimize production-ready Kubernetes (EKS) clusters.
- Embed Observability: Implement comprehensive monitoring, tracing, and logging frameworks across all cloud services.
- Build Data Pipelines: Architect and maintain event-driven streaming and ETL pipelines for high-volume data engineering jobs.
- Develop Cloud Tooling: Write clean, maintainable backend code in Python, Go to build internal tools and data utilities.
- Optimize Performance: Monitor system health, debug complex distributed data systems, and continuously improve cloud reliability and costs.
Technical Skills
- Cloud Platform: Advanced expertise in AWS core services (IAM, VPC, EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda).
- Orchestration & IaC: Deep operational knowledge of Kubernetes and Terraform.
- Data & Streaming Stack: Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Apache Kafka, and Change Data Capture (CDC) mechanisms.
- Observability Stack: Strong experience with OpenTelemetry (OTel), Prometheus, and the Grafana stack (Loki, Tempo, Mimir).
- Programming Languages: Professional proficiency in both Python or Golang.
Functional & Domain Expertise
- Data Engineering & ETL: Deep understanding of designing, building, and optimizing batch and real-time ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Event-Driven Architecture: Mastery of data streaming, message queuing, pub/sub patterns, and handling real-time data sync via CDC.
- Cloud-Native Architecture: Strong understanding of microservices design, 12-factor app methodologies, and serverless patterns.
- Site Reliability Engineering (SRE): Solid grasp of distributed tracing, metrics aggregation, error budgeting, and building self-healing systems.
Experience Requirements
- Total Experience: 6+ years of professional software engineering, DevOps, or data infrastructure experience.
- Cloud & Container Focus: 3+ years of dedicated experience managing AWS environments and production Kubernetes workloads.
- Data Pipeline Delivery: Proven track record of implementing Kafka clusters, configuring CDC solutions, and managing relational data layers like PostgreSQL.
- Observability Implementation: Demonstrated success setting up OpenTelemetry pipelines and building advanced Grafana dashboard ecosystems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Databricks for unified data analytics and processing.
- Official certifications such as AWS Certified Data Engineer, AWS DevOps Engineer, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
- Experience with service meshes (e.g., Istio, Linkerd) and GitOps controllers (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux).
Why Join This Team
You will join a forward-thinking, highly collaborative engineering team that genuinely values modern engineering principles over legacy processes. We bridge the gap between bleeding-edge cloud infrastructure and high-throughput data platforms, bypassing manual processes in favor of true GitOps automation. You will have the autonomy to solve complex distributed systems puzzles, build event-driven architectures, and make a massive impact on the data velocity and operational reliability of our entire organization.
