We are a new modern vegetarian continental caf with an artisanal bakery division, focused on warm hospitality, exceptional service, and memorable guest experiences. We're looking for a skilled Senior Captain to lead our front-of-house team and ensure smooth, efficient operations on the floor.
Role Overview:
The Senior Captain will be responsible for managing daily FOH service, supervising service staff, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining high service standards. This role requires strong leadership, an eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily FOH operations and ensure excellent guest service
- Supervise and support service staff, including stewards, servers, and hosts
- Train team members on service standards, menu knowledge, and guest handling
- Coordinate with kitchen and bakery teams for smooth order flow
- Handle guest queries, complaints, and special requests professionally
- Ensure table settings, cleanliness, ambience, and service readiness at all times
- Manage reservations, table allocations, and peak-hour workflow
- Conduct daily briefing sessions for the team
- Maintain adherence to hygiene and safety protocols
- Support the Manager in billing oversight, cashiering checks, and shift management
Requirements:
- 35+ years of FOH experience in a caf, restaurant, or hotel environment
- Previous experience as a Captain or Senior Captain preferred
- Strong communication and team-management skills
- Excellent understanding of service etiquette and guest handling
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
- Positive attitude, professional grooming, and strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of continental cuisine and bakery offerings (preferred but not mandatory)
