Job Description
The Power BI Developer will work with a variety of data, including financial, customer and marketing data and will be responsible for developing and analysing data models and reports to support strategic decision-making, test business scenarios, and identify opportunities for growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Power BI and the ability to use it to create data models, visualizations, and reports that are both informative and actionable.
- Design, develop and deploy Power BI reports, dashboards and data models
- Use DAX to create complex calculations and measurements
- Gather, refine and analyze data and provide information that supports corporate decision making and/or answers business questions
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize data needs
- Ensure business logic is reflected accurately in all reporting, analyses, and models
- Streamline data flows between teams and departments
- Maintain objectivity with the ability to see issues from multiple perspectives
- Present findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
- Conduct ad hoc analyses to answer business questions
Qualifications:
- Strong presentation skills with a proven ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms
- Proficiency in using Power BI to create data models, visualizations and reports
- Strong understanding of DAX and its use in Power BI
- Proficient in SQL and reporting analysis tools
- Experience analysing data trends
- Demonstrated critical thinker
- Sense of urgency with the ability to work under tight deadlines
- Self-motivated, results oriented with a commitment to excellence
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency in using Power BI to create data models, visualizations and reports
- Strong understanding of DAX and its use in Power BI
- Experience with optimizing Power BI performance and scalability
- Experience in writing complex SQL queries against relational databases
- Experience with Excel
- 6+ years of experience in a business intelligence, or reporting role
- Strong business acumen and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to drive initiatives forward
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate on DevOps pipelines.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Agile project delivery.
Good to Have:
- Working knowledge of Python, Snowflake, and AWS.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric is a plus.
