The Amherst Residential platform provides a comprehensive suite of services to facilitate the ownership of single-family rental properties, including property management services, asset-level financing, and asset management services. With a deep understanding of and proprietary analytics on the single-family home and mortgage markets, Amherst's platform combines a unique combination of national scale with local market knowledge and execution.

We are looking for a dynamicand adaptable Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join our real estateteam. This role requires strong analytical thinking, advanced SQL expertise, dimensional modeling knowledge, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into sustainable data solutions.

Job Description (Primary Responsibilities)

• Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and analytical models used by operational and executive teams.
• Translate business requirements into well-defined metrics, standardized KPIs, and scalable data structures.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries across large datasets.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across reports and analytical outputs.
• Partner with Data Engineering to improve data models, pipelines, and overall warehouse architecture.
• Contribute to the design and enhancement of data marts and semantic layers.
• Analyze trends, identify anomalies, and provide actionable insights.
• Document metric definitions, business logic, and data models to ensure transparency and governance.
• Improve dashboard performance and optimize query execution times.
• Act as a technical reference and mentor for junior analysts.

Desired Skills/Qualifications:

• Masters and Bachelor's degree from Tier 1 collegespreferred .
• 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or related roles.
• Advanced SQL proficiency (complex joins, window functions, aggregations, query tuning).
• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling (star schema, fact/dimension design, SCD concepts).
• Experience working with enterprise Data Warehouses (SQL Server, Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar).
• Experience with BI visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
• Familiarity with ETL processes and data pipelines.
• Experience working with operational performance metrics (SLAs, efficiency, cost analysis, etc.).
• Ability to work with large datasets and optimize performance.
• Strong analytical and structured thinking.
• Deep understanding of operational processes and performance metrics.
• Ability to challenge and refine metric definitions.
• High attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Self-driven and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
