Role Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Business Development Manager to lead our enterprise client acquisition strategy and build a robust, multi-million dollar sales pipeline. This is a high-impact role that sits at the heart of our growth strategy, responsible for the entire sales cycle from initial prospecting and discovery through to deal closure and ongoing relationship management. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker and a proven closer, with deep expertise in the ecommerce ecosystem and an extensive network of C-suite and senior-level contacts across enterprise organizations.

This position demands a proactive, entrepreneurial leader who can operate effectively on a global scale, building pipelines both domestically and in international markets. The role requires someone who can balance strategic thinking with tactical execution, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams while driving independent results. The ideal candidate will bring not only a track record of success but also a genuine passion for the ecommerce and quick commerce sectors, and a commitment to building long-term, value-driven partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
  • The Senior Business Development Manager will be accountable for four critical areas of responsibility, each essential to the success of Pinnacle Growth Consulting's enterprise growth strategy.
  • Pipeline Development and Management - The primary responsibility of this role is to design and execute a comprehensive strategy for building and managing a multi-million dollar pipeline of enterprise accounts. This involves proactively identifying and targeting new business opportunities across both domestic and international markets, with a particular focus on brands operating in or expanding into the ecommerce and quick commerce space.
  • The successful candidate will leverage their existing network of senior-level contacts to open doors and create opportunities, while also developing new relationships through strategic outreach and thought leadership. This requires a sophisticated understanding of account-based selling methodologies, the ability to identify high-potential accounts, and the discipline to prioritize opportunities based on strategic fit and revenue potential.
  • Lead Generation and Database Management - This role encompasses ownership of the entire lead management ecosystem, from initial lead generation through qualification and nurturing. The Senior Business Development Manager will oversee all inbound and outbound lead generation activities, ensuring a consistent flow of high-quality prospects into the pipeline.
  • This includes managing relationships with marketing teams to optimize lead generation campaigns, as well as executing direct outreach strategies. A critical component of this responsibility is maintaining a meticulous and up-to-date database of all leads, opportunities, and client interactions within the company's CRM system. This data discipline ensures visibility across the organization and enables data-driven decision-making about resource allocation and strategic priorities.
  • Sales Cycle Management and Deal Closure - The candidate will manage the complete sales cycle for enterprise accounts, from initial discovery and needs assessment through solution design, proposal development, negotiation, and contract closure. This requires exceptional consultative selling skills, with the ability to understand complex client challenges and position Pinnacle Growth Consulting's solutions as strategic imperatives. The role demands strong financial acumen for structuring deals, negotiating commercial terms, and ensuring optimal value capture for both the client and the firm. Given the complexity of enterprise sales cycles, which often involve multiple stakeholders and extended timeframes, the candidate must demonstrate patience, persistence, and strategic relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic Relationship Management and Client Success - Beyond the initial sale, this role is responsible for cultivating and nurturing long-term, strategic relationships with key enterprise clients. The Senior Business Development Manager will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring client satisfaction and retention by understanding their evolving needs and aligning Pinnacle Growth Consulting's solutions accordingly. This involves regular engagement with client stakeholders, proactive identification of expansion opportunities, and collaboration with internal delivery teams to ensure seamless service execution. The candidate will also represent Pinnacle Growth Consulting at industry events, conferences, and networking functions, building the company's brand and expanding its network within the ecommerce ecosystem.

Required Qualifications and Experience
  • The successful candidate will possess a combination of experience, skills, and personal attributes that position them for immediate impact and long-term success in this role.
  • Professional Experience - A minimum of eight to twelve years of progressive experience in business development is required, with at least five years in a senior role focused on enterprise B2B sales.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a proven track record of building and managing multi-million dollar sales pipelines, with consistent achievement of or exceeding revenue targets. Experience within the ecommerce, quick commerce, marketplace consulting, or related technology sectors is essential, as is familiarity with the unique challenges and opportunities within these industries.
  • Network and Relationships - A distinguishing characteristic of the ideal candidate is a pre-existing and verifiable network of senior-level contacts within enterprise-level retail, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or related industries. This network should include relationships with C-suite executives, heads of ecommerce, digital transformation leaders, and other key decision-makers who are potential clients for Pinnacle Growth Consulting's services. The ability to leverage these relationships ethically and effectively to generate business opportunities is a critical success factor for this role.
  • International Business Development - Given the global nature of ecommerce and Pinnacle Growth Consulting's ambitions for international expansion, proven experience in building and managing sales pipelines in international markets is required. This includes understanding different business cultures, navigating cross-border commercial relationships, and adapting sales strategies to different regulatory and market environments.
  • Educational Background - A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is required. An MBA or other advanced business degree is highly desirable and will be viewed as a significant advantage, particularly if obtained from a top-tier institution.

Desired Qualifications
  • While not mandatory, the following qualifications will significantly strengthen a candidate's application and potential for success in this role.
  • Consulting or Professional Services Background - Experience in management consulting, particularly with top-tier firms such as McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or Deloitte, provides valuable training in strategic thinking, problem-solving, and client relationship management.
