Position Overview
The Business Development Manager – Marketing will be responsible for driving market expansion, strategic partnerships, and brand positioning for the company's Type 3 and Type 4 composite CNG and LPG cylinders.
The role focuses on identifying high-value opportunities within the automotive, energy, and gas distribution ecosystem, developing market entry strategies, and building strong relationships with OEMs, system integrators, city gas distribution companies, and fleet operators.
The position requires a strong combination of technical understanding, strategic marketing capability, and B2B business development expertise within the alternative fuels and pressure vessel industry.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development
- Develop and execute business development strategies to expand market share for composite CNG/LPG cylinders.
- Identify new market segments and growth opportunities within:
- Automotive OEMs
- CNG retrofit and conversion kit manufacturers
- City Gas Distribution (CGD) companies
- Industrial gas equipment manufacturers
- Fleet operators and transportation companies
- Build strategic alliances and partnerships with key industry players.
Product Marketing & Positioning
- Lead marketing initiatives to position Type 3 & Type 4 composite cylinders as advanced lightweight alternatives to traditional steel cylinders.
- Develop value-based marketing strategies highlighting safety, weight reduction, durability, and performance advantages.
- Create and manage product marketing materials, technical documentation, and promotional campaigns.
Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory frameworks affecting CNG/LPG cylinder markets.
- Conduct competitive benchmarking and pricing analysis.
- Identify opportunities arising from clean energy initiatives and alternative fuel adoption.
Customer Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain relationships with OEM procurement teams, engineering departments, and project stakeholders.
- Conduct technical and commercial presentations to customers and industry partners.
- Manage customer engagement throughout the business development lifecycle.
Sales Enablement & Commercial Support
- Collaborate with the sales team to convert qualified leads into commercial contracts.
- Support tender submissions, RFP responses, and pricing strategies.
- Ensure alignment between customer requirements, engineering capabilities, and production capacity.
Industry Representation
- Represent the company at industry conferences, exhibitions, and trade events related to alternative fuels and pressure vessels.
- Promote the company's technology leadership in composite cylinder solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Business Administration.
- MBA in Marketing / Business Development preferred.
Experience
- 8–12 years of experience in business development, marketing, or strategic sales.
- Experience in one or more of the following industries:
- Composite pressure vessels
- Automotive components
- Gas storage and distribution equipment
- Alternative fuel technologies (CNG/LPG/Hydrogen)
- Industrial equipment manufacturing
- Strong experience dealing with OEM customers and large industrial clients.
