JOB DESCRIPTION – BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

Employment Type: Full-time

Preferred Experience: 2–5 years in sales or business development within Travel & Tourism

Industry Requirement: Travel & Tourism experience is mandatory.

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive, target-driven Business Development Executive to identify new business opportunities, acquire clients and travel partners, and generate profitable bookings. The role involves prospecting, client meetings, proposal preparation, follow-ups, negotiations, and relationship management for domestic and international travel products.

Key Responsibilities

1. New Business Development

  • Identify and approach potential clients, travel agents, corporate organisations, educational institutions, and other relevant business partners.
  • Generate qualified leads through outbound calls, networking, referrals, field visits, and digital outreach.
  • Understand customer travel requirements, budgets, preferences, and decision timelines.
  • Schedule meetings, present company offerings, and convert opportunities into confirmed business.
  • Develop an assigned territory or client portfolio to achieve monthly sales targets.

2. Travel Sales and Conversion

  • Promote domestic and international holiday packages, customised tours, group departures, corporate travel, and educational tours.
  • Coordinate with the Products and Operations teams to prepare suitable itineraries and competitive quotations.
  • Follow up consistently on enquiries, proposals, and pending booking decisions.
  • Negotiate within approved pricing and discount limits while protecting booking margins.
  • Clearly communicate package inclusions, exclusions, payment schedules, and cancellation terms.

3. Partner and Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with travel agents, corporate contacts, institutions, and direct customers.
  • Support onboarding and activation of new business partners.
  • Share relevant packages, destination updates, promotional offers, and departure schedules.
  • Generate repeat bookings and referrals through regular engagement and responsive service.
  • Identify opportunities to expand business within existing accounts.

4. Booking Coordination and Collections

  • Ensure accurate collection and handover of customer requirements and booking information.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Ticketing, Visa, and other internal teams for smooth booking execution.
  • Follow up on customer and partner payments according to agreed schedules.
  • Escalate service concerns promptly and coordinate their resolution.
  • Ensure all customer commitments are aligned with confirmed availability and company approvals.

5. CRM and Reporting

  • Maintain updated records of leads, meetings, quotations, follow-ups, and booking status in the CRM.
  • Submit regular reports on sales activities, pipeline, conversions, revenue, and collections.
  • Track reasons for lost business and share recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitor competitor offerings and customer preferences to identify new opportunities.

Candidate Requirements

  • Relevant sales or business development experience with a travel agency, tour operator, holiday company, or travel management business.
  • Working knowledge of domestic and international destinations, holiday packages, and travel booking processes.
  • Proven ability to generate leads, conduct client meetings, and close sales.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work towards revenue targets and manage multiple enquiries effectively.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, MS Excel, email communication, and proposal preparation.
  • Willingness to undertake field visits and travel for business development.
  • Graduate in any discipline; a qualification in Travel & Tourism will be an advantage.
  • An existing network of travel agents, corporate clients, or institutional contacts will be preferred.

  • Enquiry-to-booking conversion rate.
  • Monthly revenue and gross margin achievement.
