Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Business Analyst (Trade Finance) with strong domain expertise in Trade Finance modules and hands-on experience in requirement analysis, product walkthroughs, and solution design. The candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders, product teams, and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirement Analysis & Product Understanding
• Conduct detailed module-wise product walkthroughs for clients and internal stakeholders
• Gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements
• Identify and document product gaps raised by clients during discussions
• Understand underlying business logic of gaps and prepare detailed
Functional Specification Documents (FSDs)
• Ensure periodic review and refinement of documentation
• Collaborate with stakeholders to validate requirements and proposed solutions
2. Trade Finance Domain Expertise
• Candidate must have strong experience in the following Trade Finance
modules:
o Letter of Credit (LC) – Import & Export
o Bank Guarantees (BG)
o Bills & Collections (Import/Export Bills, Documentary Collections)
o Trade Loans / Buyer's Credit / Supplier's Credit
o SWIFT messaging (MT7xx, MT4xx, MT1xx) understanding
o All Compliance & Regulatory aspects in trade finance
3. Training, Demo & Stakeholder Engagement
• Conduct product demonstrations for prospects and clients in coordination with sales and pre-sales teams
• Provide functional training to users and internal teams
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) during client interactions
• Guide end users on system changes and enhancements
• Ensure product documentation, user manuals, brochures, and knowledge materials are updated regularly
4. Requirement Review & Documentation
• Analyse and review requirement documents within the Banking & Financial Services domain
• Create and maintain:
o Functional Requirement Documents (FRD)/ Scope of Word Document (SOW)
o Functional Specification Documents (FSD)
• Ensure clarity, completeness, and traceability of requirements
5. Solutioning & Functional Modelling
• Conceptualize and propose new product features aligned with industry trends
• Translate business requirements into functional models and workflows
• Work closely with product and development teams to ensure correct implementation
• Participate in UAT support and validation of delivered features
Key Skills & Competencies
• Strong domain knowledge in Trade Finance operations and lifecycle
• Excellent requirement gathering and documentation skills
• Good understanding of banking systems / CBS / Trade platforms
• Familiarity with SWIFT standards and messaging flows
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to handle client-facing roles and demos confidently
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA / CA / CFA / bachelor's degree in finance, Banking, or related field
• Experience working with product companies or banking IT solutions (highly preferred)
