Job Description: Senior Business Analyst - Revenue Planning

Base Location: Bangalore
Experience: 34 years (including 12 years leading/mentoring a small team)
Technical skills: Strong SQL and advanced Excel
Roles and Responsibilities:
Analyze large datasets using SQL and Excel (joins, aggregations, window functions, pivots, lookups) to answer business questions and identify trends.
Build and maintain performance reports and dashboards in Excel (pivot tables, charts, automated templates) for business and leadership reviews.
Work with business and operations teams to understand problems, define clear analytical questions, and translate them into SQL/Excel-based analyses.
Perform root-cause analysis for KPI movements and propose data-driven actions for growth, cost reduction, and process improvement.
Validate data quality, reconcile numbers across sources, and ensure consistency of metrics and definitions.
Document analysis logic, metric definitions, and data sources to enable reuse and transparency.
Team handling & leadership
Lead and mentor a team of 13 junior analysts; plan workload, review queries/Excel models, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
Conduct regular 1:1s and reviews, give feedback on SQL/Excel work and problem structuring, and drive skill upskilling within the team.
Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to set priorities, manage dependencies, and communicate analytical findings clearly.
Required qualifications
34 years of experience as a Business/Data/Reporting Analyst or similar role.
Strong hands-on SQL: joins, aggregations, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, and query optimization basics.
Advanced Excel skills: pivot tables, advanced formulas (LOOKUPs, INDEXMATCH, SUMIFS, IF formulas), charts, and basic automation using templates/macros.
Experience working with large datasets from relational databases and collaborating with product/tech/ops teams.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present insights and influence decisions.
Preferred skills
Experience with at least one BI/visualization tool Looker Studio
Exposure to experimentation/funnel/cohort analysis.
Prior experience in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment.
