About the Role
We are looking for a driven and technically adept Principal Business Analyst who can bridge the gap between business strategy and technology delivery. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in software development, deep expertise in business analysis, and hands-on solution ownership experience — someone who thrives at the intersection of data, agile execution, and user-centric thinking.
Key Responsibilities
Solution & Roadmap Ownership
- Own and drive the end-to-end solution roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational OKRs and business goals
- Define, prioritize, and refine the product backlog, writing clear and testable user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria
- Collaborate with engineering, UX/design, data science, and GTM teams to deliver high-impact product features on schedule
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
- Gather, document, and validate functional and non-functional requirements (URS, FRS, use cases) through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and analysis
- Model and document business processes using BPMN/UML techniques; identify gaps and recommend improvements
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring clarity of scope and expectations
Agile Delivery & Sprint Execution
- Facilitate agile ceremonies — sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews
- Manage and groom the product backlog; coordinate releases and manage dependencies across squads
- Track and report on delivery metrics, proactively flagging risks and blockers
Data Analysis & Decision Support
- Leverage SQL, Power BI, and Excel for data analysis to validate product decisions and measure feature impact
- Define and monitor KPIs; translate data insights into actionable product improvements
- Drive measurable outcomes (e.g., cost reduction, efficiency gains, improved detection rates)
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Communicate product vision, progress, and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Manage competing priorities and navigate ambiguity in a dynamic, cross-functional environment
- Present findings, recommendations, and roadmap updates to senior leadership
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience
- 10+ years of overall experience in IT, with 5+ years in Business Analysis
- Demonstrated experience delivering digital products in at least one of: enterprise SaaS, observability/AIOps, retail/supply chain, life sciences/pharma, or cloud platforms
- Prior hands-on experience as a developer or programmer is a strong plus
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and/or Excel for data analysis
- Experience with Agile tools: Jira, Azure DevOps
- Familiarity with BPMN/UML diagramming tools for process modeling
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts, RPA (e.g., UiPath), or GenAI-based product features is desirable
Certifications (Preferred)
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent
- Business Analysis certifications (e.g., CCBA, CBAP) are a plus
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a user-first approach
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across teams
- High customer empathy combined with business and commercial acumen
Preferred Background
- Experience working at large enterprise IT services companies (e.g., Wipro, Infosys, TCS) and/or product-led organizations
- Exposure to supply chain transformation, RPA initiatives, or hybrid cloud observability platforms
- Track record of delivering measurable business impact (cost savings, efficiency improvements, revenue growth)
- Engineering or technology undergraduate degree (e.g., B.E./B.Tech/MCA); a degree from a premier institution is a plus
