The Asset Stewardship team at State Street Investment Management is responsible for developing and implementing the firm's proxy voting and engagement guidelines, managing issuer engagement, and undertaking research and analysis of governance and sustainability related issues.
Who We Are Looking For
The Senior Business Analyst plays a hands-on role in generating impactful voting and engagement insights that inform strategic business decisions and enhance client reporting. This position involves close collaboration across teams and functions to deliver robust reporting solutions, advance best-practice BI capabilities, and introduce innovative analytical approaches that drive commercial success.
We are seeking a team member with experience in data analysis, visualization/BI tools, reporting, and stakeholder management. Key responsibilities include:
- Database development: Manage and provide technical expertise to design and build a database for tracking voting and engagement data
- Reporting & analytics: Develop, deploy and maintain Tableau and Excel-based tools including building dashboards, identifying and creating metrics, and reports to support data-driven decision-making
- Process optimization: Identify and implement enhancements to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency
- Data quality & governance: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used for reporting, and drive improvements in data quality and governance processes
- Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with internal team members and cross-functional stakeholders to build datasets, technical processes, and workflows that support stewardship priorities and strategic planning
- Growth opportunity: The role offers potential for expansion into broader responsibilities over time, based on team needs and individual strengths
Requirements
- 5 to 7 of experience as a business data analyst
- A degree in business analysis, data analytics, computer science, or related field. Masters would be preferable
- Strong skills in advanced Tableau, Excel, macros. Proficiency in SQL and power queries is beneficial
- Business acumen and analytical skills
- Ability to collaborate across teams and functions
- Strong communication skills verbal and written
- Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
