As a Business Analyst no two days will be the same however can include the following activities:
- Produce accurate Epic requirements through engagement and collaboration with stakeholders
- Use the 3-amigo approach to ensure user stories are ready for development.
- Write up acceptance criteria using Behaviour Driven Development (BDD).
- Communicate the as-is and to-be process.
- Create artifacts to help articulate the user stories and acceptance criteria i.e:
- use cases,
- process maps,
- data models,
- user interface designs
- Support the product owner and help prioritise deliverables.
- Help define improvements to business processes.
- Support the project team throughout the development lifecycle.
- Negotiating alternative options or approaches to meet requirements.
- Maintaining a requirements catalogue to avoid scope deviation.
- Assist in running agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- You are independent, a quick learner and have an excellent eye for detail in verbal and written communication.
- Confident in building and maintaining relationships both internally within the business and with external stakeholders.
- Experience in waterfall and agile methodology and have experience of requirements management tools e.g. Confluence and Jira.
- Excellent problem-solving skills. You see the problem, understand its significance, and get to the heart of the issue quickly and thoroughly.
- You can work under pressure and are proactive, and adaptable.
- You have worked with data analysis including data mapping.
