Role Profile:
This role is central to defining and delivering the Data Trust Operating Model, which underpins client's data management and governance strategy. The successful candidate will act as a Senior Business Analyst, responsible for shaping the vision, defining detailed requirements, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.
You will work closely with stakeholders across business and technology to design processes, metadata standards, and application features that enable robust data governance and management practices. This role requires strong analytical skills, deep experience in business analysis, and a solid understanding of financial services and market data environments.
ROLE SUMMARY:
The Senior Business Analyst will:
. Lead the definition of the Data Trust Operating Model, including processes, workflows, and governance structures.
. Translate strategic objectives into detailed functional and non-functional requirements for data management capabilities.
. Define metadata standards, data lineage requirements, and integration points across systems.
. Collaborate with product owners, architects, and engineering teams to ensure requirements are implemented effectively.
. Act as a subject matter expert on data governance and management best practices within financial services.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
. Partner with stakeholders to capture and document business requirements for data governance and management initiatives.
. Define and document end-to-end processes for data stewardship, quality, and compliance.
. Specify metadata requirements and ensure alignment with enterprise data standards.
. Support the design of application features that enable governance (e.g., workflow, approval, Metadata capture, lineage tracking).
. Facilitate workshops and stakeholder reviews to validate requirements and processes.
. Contribute to the development of data governance frameworks, organisational structures, tooling decisions and operating procedures.
. Provide thought leadership on data management practices and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, DORA).
. Structure and track the operating model development and improvement deliverables maintain transparent task reporting.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Essential Skills & Experience:
. 8+ years experience as a Business Analyst, ideally in data management or governance projects.
. Strong understanding of data governance principles, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
. Proven ability to define complex business processes and translate them into actionable requirements.
. Experience in financial services and familiarity with market data services.
. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
. Familiarity with regulatory requirements impacting data (GDPR, DORA).
Preferred Skills:
. Knowledge of data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Solidatus).
. Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS) and modern data architectures (Snowflake, Databricks).
. Strong background in Agile delivery and tools (Jira, Confluence).
. The ability and passion to help shape the strategic direction and get down into and define the detailed delivery.
Qualifications:
. Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field.
. Professional certifications (DCAM/CDMC, DAMA CDMP) highly desirable.
