Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior BIM Technician - Bridges to join our US-GCC T&I Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining structural engineering drawings using Autodesk and Bentley software. Successful candidate will collaborate closely with our engineering and CAD teams to ensure that all designs and drawings meet industry standards and project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of engineering drawings using WSP CAD standards and templates.
- Develop templates and libraries for CAD/BIM work.
- Agree on priorities and deadlines for drawing production through liaison with the project engineer and US team.
- Align work with team workflows and maintain document control for all work.
- Proactively raise queries, identify necessary inputs from others, and follow up.
- Create detailed and accurate civil structural engineering drawings using Microstation, Open Bridge Modeler, and Civil 3D.
- Provide technical support and guidance to CAD/BIM technicians.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in CAD technology.
Qualifications
- Over 10 years of experience as a Senior BIM/CAD Technician, specializing in structural engineering and drafting of Civil Bridges.
- Proficiency in Bentley software, including Microstation and ORD.
- Proficiency in Autodesk software, such as AutoCAD and Revit.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Project and Team management skills.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and practices.
- Excellent knowledge of reinforcement detailing.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Lead project agreeing on drawing strategy, type, and size of drawings, and drawing numbering with the project engineer, and suggesting methods of drawing production to ensure efficiency.
- Ensure that work produced by the team adheres to specified WSP CAD standards and suggest revisions to standards as appropriate.
- Review engineers sketches and other design team members drawings and details to identify any unbuildable or conflicting details or missing information.
- Maintain regular dialogue with the project engineer and US client team.
- Be responsible for sharing knowledge with immediate colleagues and the rest of the GCC.
- Ensure that all new skills learned are documented and available for new team members.
- In conjunction with the GCC Local Head, identify skills shortages and develop a program for CAD/BIM training.
- High degree of self-motivation and the ability to motivate others.
Mandatory Skills:
Proficient in AutoCAD and Microstation, Structural detailing, Bridge Engineering, reinforcement detailing, and possessing strong communication skills.
International projects experience
Desired Skills:
Proficient in 3D modelling, Open Bridge Modeler, Civil 3D, and Open Brim.
Skills To Be Evaluated On:
Proficient in AutoCAD Microstation, structural detailing, bridge engineering (GAD), reinforcement detailing, and modelling.
Qualifications
Mandatory Qualification:
Diploma in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Qualification (If Other): B Tech. Civil
BGV:
