Your new role – challenging and future-oriented

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional for as Construction Manager (MEP) at Siemens Energy Real Estate Business in India. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business as well as you will be instrumental in strategic planning , project schedule and monitoring development. This vital position centers on maintaining tight control over project lifecycles through diligent project tracking, meticulous cash flow management, effective vendor management, and clear, consistent progress reporting. You will play a key role in communicating project status to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability from inception to completion

The role reports directly to the Project Director Real Estate of Siemens Energy India Limited and is based in Navi Mumbai / Project Location

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Site Management & Supervision:
    • o Overseeing all on-site construction activities related to mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works, ensuring they align with project plans and specifications.
    • o Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and commissioning teams to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems
    • o Managing site logistics, including material handling, tracking lead items, equipment placement, and site access as per Siemens guidelines.
    • o Manage and supervise all on-site MEP activities, including installation, testing, and commissioning, ensuring adherence to design specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
    • o Coordinating activities between different works and contractors to optimize sequential workflow.
    • o Preparing and presenting regular reports to stakeholders on project status, budget and schedule
  • Quality Control & Assurance:
    • o Establishing and enforcing quality standards for all construction work.
    • o Implementing inspection and testing procedures to ensure materials and workmanship meet specifications
    • o Addressing and resolving any quality issues that arise.
  • Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Management:
    • o Enforcing robust EHS program to ensure a safe working environment.
    • o Participating in regular safety meetings, inspections and training.
    • o Investigating and reporting any incidents or near misses.
  • Risk Assessment and Analysis:
    • o Proactively identifying internal and external factors that could negatively impact the project (e.g., technical challenges, resource shortages, market changes).
    • o Evaluating the likelihood and impact of identified risks.
    • o Developing Mitigation Strategies
    • o Creating plans to prevent, reduce, or respond to identified risks, including contingency plans.
  • Contractor and Vendor Management:
    • o Managing relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and other vendors.
    • o Ensuring contracts are adhered to and performance expectations are met.
    • o Negotiating and resolving disputes if they arise
  • Stakeholder Management and Communication
    • o Serving as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, engineers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
    • o Providing regular project updates, progress reports with the project team, and addressing concerns from contractors and key stakeholders
  • Team Leadership & Motivation:
    • o Leading and motivating the project team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
    • o Delegating tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Close-out and post-construction
    • o Coordinating the final inspection and commissioning of the facility.
    • o Ensuring all necessary documentation (as-built drawings, manuals, warranties) is provided to the respective Business function.
    • o Finalizing all financial accounts, including payments to contractors and suppliers.
    • o Reconciling the final budget.
    • o Conducting a post-project review to identify successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
    • o Documenting lessons learned for future project
What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering
  • Advance Degree in Construction Management or PMP / equivalent project management certification shall be preferred
  • Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive experience in construction management, with at least 8 years specifically managing MEP works on large-scale industrial projects (e.g., manufacturing plants, data centers, power generation facilities, chemical plants).
  • Working knowledge of Design and Project Management software such as AutoCAD, BIM and MS Project or Primavera.
  • Proficient in both verbal and written communication in English for business purposes.
  • Strong understanding of industrial mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, plumbing, fire protection), electrical systems (power distribution, control systems, instrumentation), and building automation systems.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and project schedules
  • Strong understanding of the construction processes, PEB and large-scale industrial projects
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
