Job Description

The Senior Billing Analyst - EU is the operational owner of billing across a portfolio of European entities and customers. This role executes end-to-end billing activities, ensures compliance with customer contracts and EU regulatory requirements, and acts as the primary point of contact for complex billing questions. This position requires a professional who can operate with limited day-to-day oversight due to time zone differences, apply strong judgment in ambiguous situations, and partner closely with US-based Revenue, Accounting, FP&A, and Commercial teams. The ideal candidate brings deep billing expertise, working knowledge of revenue recognition under both US GAAP and IFRS, and strong problem-solving skills.

What You'll Bring:

  • Prepare, review, and process invoices with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness, ensuring alignment with executed contracts, pricing, and service delivery
  • Review customer contracts and order forms to interpret billing terms (e.g. milestones, usage thresholds, ramp periods, discount structures, etc.)
  • Ensure billing and invoicing comply with local EU requirements, including VAT, tax documentation, currency requirements, and statutory invoicing rules
  • Perform detailed reviews of customer accounts to confirm that all billable activity is captured and recognized in accordance with ASC 606
  • Support special projects (system migrations, pricing changes, and integration efforts) that impact EU billing
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support the onboarding and billing of new customer agreements
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and workflow optimization within the billing process
  • Maintain and improve SOPs, process maps, and knowledge articles related to EU billing, ensuring they reflect current practices and regulatory requirements
  • Support financial reporting, monthly close, internal audits, and ad hoc data analysis as required
  • Act as primary contact for EU customer billing inquiries, adjustments, and disputes

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, revenue operations, or a related operational finance role; experience with SaaS or technology companies strongly preferred
  • Solid working knowledge of revenue recognition concepts under US GAAP and IFRS as they relate to billing; able to identify issues and partner with Revenue Accounting on treatment
  • Proven ability to work independently across time zones, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment
  • Strong attention to detail, with a track record of identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Clear, professional communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally.
