About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and experiencedSenior Baristato join the team at 729 Grams Coffee Roasters. The role requires strong knowledge of specialty coffee, excellent customer service, and the ability to lead and train junior baristas while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoffee Preparation & Quality
- Prepareespresso-based beverages and manual brewswith high consistency and quality.
- Performdaily calibration of espresso machines and grinders.
- Maintain coffee recipes, brewing standards, and presentation quality.
- Conduct coffee tastings and help maintain flavor consistency.
Team Leadership
- Supervise baristas during shifts and ensure smooth workflow.
- Train and mentor junior baristas on brewing techniques, latte art, and service standards.
- Ensure all team members follow caf SOPs and quality guidelines.
Operations Management
- Oversee daily coffee bar operations including opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, and bar supplies.
- Coordinate with management for ordering inventory and supplies.
Equipment Maintenance
- Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment.
- Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and report major repairs when required.
Customer Experience
- Deliver excellent customer service and create a welcoming caf atmosphere.
- Handle customer feedback professionally and resolve issues efficiently.
- Recommend beverages and educate customers about specialty coffee.
Innovation & Menu Development
- Collaborate with the management team to developseasonal drinks and signature beverages.
- Stay updated with specialty coffee trends and brewing methods.
Requirements
- Minimum23 years experience as a barista in a specialty coffee caf.
- Strong knowledge ofespresso extraction, grinder calibration, latte art, and manual brewing.
- Experience withcoffee cupping and flavor profilingpreferred.
- Leadership experience in training or supervising baristas.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in afast-paced caf environment.
