About This Role
We're building infrastructure that runs the backbone of modern businesses — AI-native ERPs, autonomous agent platforms, and high-throughput data pipelines. As a Senior Backend Engineer at SequenceDynamics, you'll architect systems that handle millions of events daily, design APIs that scale without warning, and ensure our platforms stay at 99.9% uptime under load. This isn't a sprinkle AI on existing code role. You'll be involved in decisions that shape product architecture from the ground up.
What You'll Do
- Design and own high-performance microservices and event-driven architectures
- Build scalable REST and gRPC APIs consumed by our products and client platforms
- Optimise PostgreSQL/Redis/ClickHouse query performance under multi-tenant load
- Lead technical design reviews and mentor junior engineers
- Collaborate closely with AI/ML team to productionise model outputs
- Ensure system observability, alerting, and incident response are always best-in-class
- Own CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation on AWS/GCP
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of backend engineering with Node.js, Go, or Python
- Proven experience designing distributed systems at production scale
- Strong command of PostgreSQL, Redis, and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform on AWS or GCP
- Experience with event-driven architectures and domain-driven design
- Ability to own a technical domain end-to-end with minimal supervision
