Senior Backend Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Backend Development: Build and maintain backend services using NestJS with a focus on hexagonal (ports & adapters) architecture.
• API Design: Develop and document RESTful APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger for seamless frontend-backend integration.
• Database Management: Design schemas, optimize queries, and maintain PostgreSQL databases for performance and scalability.
• Event Streaming & Messaging: Implement event-driven solutions using Kafka for messaging and streaming workflows.
• Containerization: Containerize services using Docker for consistent deployments and scalable environments.
• Authentication & Authorization: Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms using JWT and OAuth2 principles.
• Automated Testing & CI/CD: Write automated tests and integrate with CI/CD pipelines for reliable, high-quality software delivery.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure GDPR-compliant data handling and security best practices in all backend implementations.
• Collaboration & Tools: Utilize AI-assisted development tools like Cursor for daily coding and productivity.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• 3+ years of professional experience with NestJS in production environments.
• Strong experience with hexagonal architecture or similar modular approaches (DDD, CQRS is a plus).
• Proficiency in TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Docker, and Kafka.
• Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD workflows, and secure development practices.
• Nice-to-Have: React frontend experience (Shadcn UI components), AI/LLM backend integrations, event sourcing, or large-scale modular systems knowledge.
