We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Engineer with 5–10 years of
experience to design, deploy, manage, and optimize Azure Virtual Desktop environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure, AVD architecture, Intune, and PowerShell scripting, with a focus on performance, security, scalability, and cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments across multiple
- regions.
- Architect and support host pools, session hosts, application groups, FSLogix profiles, and scaling plans.
- Manage and optimize Windows 10/11 multi-session and single-session environments.
- Implement Intune (Endpoint Manager) for device configuration, compliance, application deployment, and policy enforcement.
- Perform AVD performance tuning, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
- Automate operational tasks using PowerShell scripting (deployment, maintenance, reporting).
- Integrate AVD with Azure AD / Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, and RBAC.
- Monitor environments using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and alerts.
- Optimize Azure costs related to AVD, compute, storage, and networking.
- Work closely with security, networking, and application teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Support migrations from on-prem VDI / RDS / Citrix / VMware to AVD.
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, and architecture diagrams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5–10 years of overall IT experience with strong focus on Microsoft technologies.
- Hands-on expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) in enterprise environments.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure:
- Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage
- Azure AD / Entra ID
- Azure Monitor & Log Analytics
- Experience with FSLogix profile management.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Intune (policies, compliance, app deployment).
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.
- Solid understanding of Windows OS (Windows 10/11).
- Experience with security best practices, Conditional Access, and identity management.
- Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.

- Experience with Azure Automation, Logic Apps, or Azure Functions.
- Knowledge of AVD scaling plans and costoptimization strategies.
- Experience with Qualys, Defender for Endpoint, or other security tools.
Azure certifications such as:
- AZ104 (Azure Administrator)
- AZ140 (Configuring and Operating Azure Virtual Desktop)
- Experience working in global enterprise environments.
