Manual Tester (Individual Contributor)

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Manual Tester with a strong background in manual testing methodologies. The ideal candidate will be able to operate independently and possess a thorough understanding of all sprint ceremonies. Proficiency in using Postman and Jira is essential, while expertise in QTest will be considered an added advantage. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can ensure the quality and functionality of our software products through rigorous testing processes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct manual testing of software applications to identify defects and ensure quality standards are met.
- Develop and execute test cases, test plans, and test scripts based on project requirements.
- Participate in sprint ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide feedback on software functionality.
- Utilize Postman for API testing and validation of web services.
- Document and track defects using Jira, ensuring timely resolution and retesting.
- Provide detailed reports on testing progress, results, and issues to the project team.
- Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance product quality.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong knowledge and experience in Manual Testing.
- Proficient in using Postman for API testing.
- Experience with Jira for defect tracking and project management.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and sprint ceremonies.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with QTest for test management.
- Knowledge of automated testing tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in manual testing.
- Relevant certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
