DiaLawGue has an exclusive mandate from a full-service law firm with offices across India to hire an Senior Associate for its General Corporate & Advisory practice. The role is based in the firm's New Delhi office, full-time and in office. The firm advises businesses, investors, institutions and individuals across corporate, commercial and disputes work. It is a client-focused firm that puts its clients needs first, and it looks for people who take ownership of their work and act without waiting to be asked.

The role

This is a senior corporate role for a lawyer who can take a mandate from first call to closing, with the judgment to know what the client really needs. You'll work with a high degree of independence across commercial, transactional and general corporate work.

What you'll do

• Run corporate and commercial mandates independently, from first instructions through to closing
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and transaction documents
• Work on M&A, joint ventures, private equity and other corporate transactions, covering structuring, due diligence, documentation and closing
• Advise clients on corporate, governance and regulatory matters
• Lead negotiations with counterparties and their counsel
• Act as the client's main point of contact, managing expectations, timelines and deliverables
• Guide junior team members on drafting and diligence

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of corporate experience. Prior experience at a law firm is essential.
• Sharp drafting and confident negotiation
• A solid grounding in corporate transactions and general corporate advisory
• A self-starter who works well without close supervision
• Strong time management and clear ownership of deadlines
• The ability to manage a heavy workload with consistent quality. The role runs at a law-firm pace, including Saturdays when deadlines require.
