Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team and other department members to understand requirements
- Analyze and suggest improvements on Database performance to other application teams
- on-call support rotation to provide triage, technical analysis, problem resolution
- Work in shift on rotation basis
- Managing user access and security, performing backups and recovery, monitoring performance, and tuning the database for optimal efficiency
- o Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks.
- o Tune the database by adjusting DB level settings/parameters to improve performance.
- o Optimize SQL and PL/SQL queries.
- o Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies.
- o Perform routine and ad-hoc backups and ensure recovery procedures are successful.
- o Manage storage structures and ensure data integrity.
- o Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
- o Provide support to users and development teams.
- o Collaborate with other IT teams on database-related projects.
- Experience in software upgrades, troubleshooting, and creating/maintaining SQL and PL/SQL scripts
- Documentation and Application SME for the Database
- o Maintain documentation for database architecture and infrastructure.
- o Develop and implement strategies for capacity planning and disaster recovery.
- o Create reports and dashboards on database health and performance.
Primary Skills Required
- 5 to 8 years of experience in Oracle DBA including both on-prem and Cloud
- Experience in automation of DBA activities using shell, OEM and other Tools
- Performance Tuning at DB level and SQL level
- Working experience in one of the Cloud environments like OCI or AWS
- Proficiency in Shell Script, OEM, SQL Developer/TOAD.
Secondary Skills (Good To Have)
- - Exposure to other RDBMS like Postgres, MS SQL
