Role: Associate GES Team (Expat Taxation / Global Mobility / Individual Taxation)

Role Overview

Global Employer Services independently manages and delivers employment tax, global mobility, and employer compliance services for multinational clients. The role requires strong technical knowledge, client-handling capability, and coordination across tax, immigration, payroll, and mobility workstreams to ensure end-to-end compliance for globally mobile employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with immediate senior and team manager
  • Excellent communication and proficient in excel
  • Technically sound and well versed with provisions of Income Tax Act, 1961
  • Prepare, review, and finalize individual income tax returns for expatriates.
  • Manage employment tax compliance requirements, including payroll reviews, withholding obligations, and social security matters.
  • Review and analyze employee compensation structures (cash and non-cash) to assess taxability and compliance exposure.
  • Support advisory engagements relating to international assignments, cross-border employment, and mobility program design.
  • Prepare and review tax briefings, assignment cost projections, and mobility-related analyses.
  • Monitor assignment lifecycles (onboarding, extensions, repatriation) and proactively identify tax and compliance implications.
  • Coordinate immigration-related activities for globally mobile employees, including visa initiation, extensions, amendments, and dependent applications.
  • Liaise with internal immigration teams and external immigration counsel to track case status, timelines, and documentation requirements.
  • Maintain trackers and monitor critical milestones and expiry dates (visas, work permits, registrations, tax compliance calendar etc.).
  • Ensure alignment of immigration timelines with tax, payroll, and mobility requirements to support seamless assignment execution.
  • Review work prepared by Analysts for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal quality standards.
  • Maintain robust documentation, working papers, and trackers
  • Assist in preparing technical notes, client presentations, and written advisory summaries.
  • Stay updated on regulatory developments in employment tax, mobility, and immigration.
  • Knowledge about the new labour code matters will be of advantage

Educational Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certified Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA OR ICWA OR CS OR MCOM
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in direct tax, global mobility and expatriate taxation
  • Prior experience handling client interactions and coordinating multi-workstream engagements is preferred.
