Job Description
This role is to work as part of an engineering consultancy design team in India. A Qualified Architect who supports the technical design of construction projects in a range of sectors including development of the project design, production of presentation drawings and sketches. The Architect also assists in solving design complexities. The Technical Architect is responsible for leading specific aspects of the project and project team to assist in the overall effort of completing the various phases of the project. The Architect reports to the Project Lead, or other more senior team leaders.
Responsibilities
- Under direction of the Project Lead or a more senior project leader, develops, modifies, and reviews drawings ensuring the incorporation of design intent.
- Duties may include the development and implementation of project design concepts, project modelling, developing sketches, conducting research and data collection, preparing presentations and reports, and general production of design and construction documents.
- Works on multiple projects, providing concepts and techniques in ways that may explore new ways of achieving design solutions, completing tasks within established deadlines and budgets, and effectively utilizing resources to address project requirements.
- Interacts with clients and consultants, participates on project development, and presents ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Prepares, manages, and modifies architectural documents, elevations, sections, and details, as directed by others in the project team, following standards and archiving documents as appropriate.
- Develops solutions to technical and design problems following established design standards.
- May assist in the development of project scope, plans, and services during the contract process.
- Prepares 2D and 3D presentations, design drawings and renderings.
- Compiles data and performs fundamental design computations.
- Performs product research and may assist Project Designers and Project Architects with materials selection and system research.
- Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Underground Metro Project delivery is required.
- Additional experience in other rail or aviation projects would be appreciated.
- Minimum of 4 years Technical Lead for project or major packages within transport projects
- Excellent working knowledge of UK building regulations and working to international standards.
- Working capability and proficiency in industry-standard design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD and Revit
Qualifications
- Education - B.Arch.
- Strong technical design knowledge / skills in UK, Singapore construction methodology.
- Experience of working as part of an architectural design team.
- Excellent conceptual, verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluency in English (oral and written) required
