About the Role

As a Senior Full Stack Application Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of translating business needs into robust technology solutions. While your primary focus will be on backend development, you'll work across the full technology stack to build applications that leverage modern cloud services aligned with our technology governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Develop high-quality applications using modern cloud services and participate in code reviews to ensure technical excellence

• Collaborate with peers to drive end-to-end application development methodologies and stay current with emerging technology trends

• Troubleshoot and provide hands-on consulting for complex solution challenges

• Implement standard methodologies for building, testing, and deploying applications

• Contribute to Swiss Re's transparent risk culture through continuous risk accountability activities

• Create software solutions as part of a cross-functional team under the guidance of the Engineering Lead

• Support application maintenance in an operational environment aligned with business cycles

About the Team

Our Engineering team is the technical backbone of Swiss Re's Sales and Origination business. We design and build innovative applications that streamline business processes and enhance decision-making capabilities. Working in an agile environment, we collaborate closely with product managers, business stakeholders, and other technical teams to deliver solutions that drive business value and maintain Swiss Re's competitive edge in the reinsurance market.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

• 16-20 years of experience in designing, developing, and delivering software applications

• Backend expertise: Strong proficiency in C# with 15+ years of hands-on experience

• Frontend skills: 7+ years of hands-on experience with Angular, including Angular16+, Material design, SCSS, RxJS, Ngrx, MonoRepo, and MicroFrontend Architecture

• Cloud knowledge: 3+ years working with Azure cloud services

• Database experience: Working knowledge of databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or Cosmos DB

These are additional nice to haves:

• Experience with GraphQL and API design, development, and management on Azure

• Familiarity with Azure Cloud services (Azure Search, Index, Azure functions, Service bus, storage accounts, VMs)

• Experience with GitHub Copilot

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent

• Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies using JIRA or similar tools

• Strong documentation skills to describe application architecture and processes clearly

• Experience working in multicultural, globally distributed teams

• Self-starter mentality with excellent time management skills

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
