Position: Assistant Manager – Application

Experience: 10 Years Preferred

The Assistant Manager – Application is responsible for providing application engineering support for pharmaceutical tablet compression machines, managing customer relationships, AMC and spare parts business, and leading service and calibration activities. The role includes internal team grooming, site visits, coordination of junior engineers, and maintaining service and customer databases.

Key Responsibilities Application Engineering & Customer Support

  • Provide application engineering support for tablet compression machines across customer sites.
  • Understand customer process requirements and recommend suitable machine configurations and solutions.
  • Act as the primary technical interface for customers for machine operation, performance, and troubleshooting.
  • Travel to customer sites for installation support, service assistance, application trials, and training.

Customer Management & AMC Handling

  • Manage key customer accounts and maintain long‑term relationships.
  • Responsible for generating and renewing Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) for installed machines.
  • Address customer complaints, service requests, and application‑related queries promptly.
  • Support sales and service teams in customer negotiations related to AMC and technical scope.

Spare Parts Management

  • Responsible for identifying, recommending, and coordinating spare parts requirements for compression machines.
  • Coordinate with purchase, stores, and sales teams to ensure timely availability of spares.
  • Assist customers with spare parts selection, lifecycle management, and replacement planning.

Service & Field Support

  • Plan and execute installation, commissioning, calibration, and service support activities.
  • Schedule and coordinate junior engineer visits for:
  • Machine installation
  • Calibration activities
  • Preventive and breakdown maintenance
  • Service support calls
  • Monitor service quality, timelines, and customer satisfaction.

Team Leadership & Grooming

  • Guide, groom, and technically mentor junior application and service engineers.
  • Assign jobs, monitor field activities, and review service reports.
  • Conduct internal training on compression machine applications, troubleshooting, and best practices.

Database & Documentation Management

  • Maintain and update customer, machine, service, AMC, spare parts, and calibration databases.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of:
  • Installation records
  • Service history
  • AMC contracts
  • Calibration schedules and reports
  • Support continuous improvement through data analysis and feedback.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong hands‑on experience with pharmaceutical compression machines
  • Good understanding of:
  • Tablet manufacturing processes
  • Tooling, compression parameters, and troubleshooting
  • Calibration and preventive maintenance
  • Familiarity with GMP requirements related to equipment and services.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and manuals.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation / Pharmaceutical Engineering
  • Additional training in pharma equipment or application engineering.

Experience Requirement

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical engineering or equipment manufacturing industry.
  • Proven experience as an Application Engineer / Service Engineer for compression machines.
