Job Title: Senior Analyst, Payroll Operations

About the team:
The Payroll Operations Team within the Employee Experience Tower supplied to the delivery of payroll for Diageo across India, Europe & Africa constantly liaising with 3rd party Service Providers.
The team works within an uncompromising pay cycle time frame, providing a consistently reliable and accurate service within a dynamic environment from both ongoing legislative and Policy changes.
About the role:
To deliver a professional, accurate, and timely payroll administration service, ensuring employees are paid correctly and on schedule.
The role requires adherence to compliance standards, ensuring all payroll checklists, calendars, variance reporting, KPIs, and journals are completed accurately and within timelines to meet internal and external controls.
Role Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities
Validate payroll inputs received from business teams and outputs from vendors to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for assigned countries
Perform detailed variance analysis to support quality checks and identify discrepancies
Handle relationships and coordinate optimally with payroll service providers
Maintain a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and compliance in all payroll activities
Ensure timely resolution of employee queries in collaboration with vendors
Adhere rigorously to data privacy, compliance, and audit requirements
Support internal and external payroll audits for assigned regions
Handle year-end payroll activities efficiently
Demonstrate flexibility to support different regions and adapt to changing business needs
Maintain high attention to detail and structured problem-solving approach
a) Financial
The role will be responsible to ensure timely and accurate payments made to all Diageo Employees in scope
b) Market Complexity
Liaising with employees across the business and multiple countries
Partnering with outsourced payroll provider on all the above payrolls. Complexity - Answering tax queries, parental and other LOA questions, calculating advances, collating overtime and following monthly checklists and calendars to ensure all data processed accurately and within agreed timeframes. Completing in a compliant manner following our GBP Payroll controls.
High degree of technical knowledge required on multi country payrolls
c) Relationships
Liaising and establishing links with Diageo internal teams both upstream and downstream.
Build and maintain excellent relationship with concerned payroll provider
Experience / skills required:
3-5 years of payroll processing experience, with strong experience in Indian payroll
Exposure to global or European payroll processes will be an added advantage
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent
Good understanding of statutory payments, deductions, and local payroll regulations
Ability to interpret and apply payroll legislation across regions
Strong communication skills with experience working across geographies and cultures
Proficiency in MS Office tools
Working knowledge of ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
Ability to handle complex payroll environments, identify issues, and drive resolutions
Strong customer management and relationship-building skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining high-quality output
Self-motivated, well-organized, and capable of handling multiple priorities and regions
Strong written, verbal, and time management skills
Experience handling employee and vendor queries via email or ticketing systems
Ability to simplify complex situations and support clear, data-driven decision-making
