Position Overview
The Controllership team is seeking a Payroll Accounting Senior Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate understands payroll operations and has corporate and/or public accounting experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to produce high quality work in a high-energy team environment. The position will report to the Payroll Accounting Senior Manager.
Roles and Responsibilities
Play an integral part in the worldwide close process to support the consolidated financial statements
Responsible for accurate and timely posting of global payroll accounting entries including stock related journals and hypo tax accounting
Responsible for quarterly accruals - salary, vacation, social benefits, pensions, and other payroll costs
Responsible for amortization on prepaid third-party invoices where applicable
Perform Balance Sheet accounts reconciliations
Prepare flux analyses, reconciliations, and schedules for management and external auditors as appropriate
Liaise with internal and external auditors on SOX audit, statutory audit, and US GAAP audits
Work closely with business partners and accounting teams worldwide to understand changes in the business and statutory requirements which impact the financial statements
Analyze technical accounting issues and provide guidance to the Finance community, as required
Identify opportunities for process improvements to optimize the financial close process. These projects include automation, information systems improvements as well as creating efficiencies with manual processes
Additional ad hoc and special projects as required
Minimum Qualifications
BA in Accounting or Finance with proven academic excellence
5+ years of related experience (minimum 2 years of public accounting experience a plus)
A solid understanding of payroll and equity processes
A working knowledge of SAP is preferred
Experience with Blackline a plus
CPA or requirements met for certification is preferred
Experience in multi-national public companies is preferred (experience in software industry a plus)
Able to demonstrate a solid understanding of relevant accounting principles under US GAAP
Excellent planning, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to a non-technical audience
Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, organized and thorough with desire for continuous improvement and growth
Strong excel skills and ability to analyze data
Ability to work well in a team and as an individual contributor
Ability to prioritize workload, perform in a fast-paced global environment and work overtime during peak times such as quarter-end
