Main purpose
Responsible for the setup and administration of master data in multiple IT systems by adhering to processes and controls to ensure master data quality
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting, finance, business administration, information systems or equivalent
- Strong understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) concepts, including Golden Record creation, Match & Merge, Survivorship rules, hierarchies, and relationships.
- 5+ years of experience in Master Data Management
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, validation, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Hands-on experience with MDM platforms/tools such as Informatica MDM, SAP MDG, IBM MDM, Oracle MDM, Reltio, Stibo, or TIBCO EBX.
- Experience in data quality management, including profiling, cleansing, standardization, de-duplication, and enrichment of master data.
- Strong knowledge of ETL / data integration processes and tools (e.g., Informatica PowerCenter, Talend, SSIS, Azure Data Factory) for synchronizing master data across systems.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks, data stewardship workflows, and defining business rules for master data management.
- Experience working with APIs and integration methods (REST, JSON, XML) for master data exchange across applications.
- Knowledge of data modeling concepts, including entities, attributes, relationships, and reference data management.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in data management, including performing Create/Read/Update/Delete responsibilities for master data
- Work with various operations and accounting departments to understand master data requirements
- Understand data structure, data interfaces and how data flows and transforms from source systems to the downstream systems
- Act as a SME for any master data related questions and coordinate with IT and Business for the various system implementations
- Partner with the Data Officer to implement rules, policies and controls to ensure master data is complete, consistent and accurate
- Design Data quality rules to identify areas for data quality improvement and execute action plans to resolve issues
- Implement process controls & improvements for prevention of data quality issues and integrity across key systems
- Follow up with data owners/users to remediate data issues in order to maintain the agreed levels of quality
- Performing system integrity checks, correcting errors immediately where possible or managing the issue with IT and business teams
- Implement rules, policies and controls to ensure master data is complete, consistent and accurate
