Position Overview

The Senior Analyst, 1LOD FCRM COE Issue Management - Execution, Governance & Reporting supports the first line of defense Financial Crimes Risk & Controls Center of Excellence by driving disciplined execution, quality assurance, and reporting across the financial crimes issue management lifecycle.

This role is accountable for ensuring financial crimes issues are accurately tracked, consistently governed, and sustainably remediated, with complete documentation, clear traceability to root cause, and defensible evidence of completion. The role also ensures issue data integrity and produces high-quality analysis and reporting to support senior-level governance, audits, and regulatory examinations.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Crimes Issue Management, this role focuses on internal execution rigor, consistent practices, quality review, analytics, and escalation support, enabling effective senior management engagement and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute COE issue intake, logging, classification, and severity documentation in accordance with enterprise standards.

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely issue records across assigned portfolios.

  • Track remediation milestones, dependencies, and issue aging, ensuring progression aligns with approved timelines and enterprise expectations.

  • Review remediation plans for completeness, clarity of ownership, alignment to root cause, and testable completion criteria.

  • Maintain remediation documentation and evidence repositories to support quality assurance, audits, and regulatory examinations.

  • Validate that remediation actions are operational, sustainable, and capable of BAU transition prior to escalation for closure consideration.

  • Enforce consistent application of issue management standards, definitions, severity criteria, and definition of done.

  • Perform structured quality reviews of issue records, remediation plans, and closure evidence.

  • Assess remediation sufficiency to confirm root cause resolution and sustainable risk reduction.

  • Incorporate regulatory, audit, and internal review feedback into enhancements to issue execution and governance practices.

  • Identify execution risks, delays, documentation gaps, or data quality issues.

  • Prepare fact-based escalation materials for the Senior Manager, including impact assessment, root cause, and recommended actions.

  • Support disciplined issue progression by applying execution and quality standards consistently.

  • Own accuracy, completeness, and reconciliation of first-line issue management data.

  • Produce standardized reporting on issue status, aging, severity, themes, and risk concentrations.

  • Ensure all reporting is internally consistent, defensible, and suitable for senior management and regulatory review.

  • Identify systemic trends, recurring control weaknesses, and cross-cutting financial crimes risks.

  • Translate issue data into forward-looking insights to inform risk assessments and remediation prioritization.

  • Package insights and analysis for Senior Manager delivery to governance forums.

  • Prepare issue documentation, evidence inventories, and narrative support for audits and regulatory examinations.

  • Ensure all artifacts meet enterprise documentation and traceability standards prior to external review

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in financial crimes, operational risk, issue management, governance, or risk analytics.

  • Demonstrated experience managing issue execution, remediation tracking, and/or quality review.

  • Strong understanding of issue management frameworks and regulatory expectations.

  • Working knowledge of AML, sanctions, payments controls, and financial crimes risk domains.

  • Proven ability to produce accurate, executive-ready risk reporting and analysis.

  • Strong execution discipline, analytical capability, attention to detail, and documentation rigor.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a structured, stakeholder-interaction role requiring sound judgment and independence.
