Senior AI/ML Engineer Manufacturing Digital Twin

About the Role
We are seeking a highly capable Senior AI/ML Engineer to work independently with global manufacturing customers on cutting-edge Manufacturing Digital Twin initiatives.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in customer-facing environments, can own AI/ML use cases end-to-end, and confidently translates complex manufacturing challenges into scalable machine learning solutionsfrom data understanding to production deployment and measurable business impact.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Use-Case Ownership
- Independently engage with customer stakeholders including process engineers, quality teams, and operations managers.
- Understand manufacturing workflows, operational pain points, and data landscapes.
- Translate business and operational challenges into clear AI/ML problem statements.
- Lead technical discussions with customers and explain model logic, assumptions, and outcomes in a clear, business-friendly manner.
- Own ML use cases end-to-end with minimal supervision.
Data Science & Machine Learning Development
- Perform data collection, profiling, EDA, and feature engineering using manufacturing, process, and sensor data.
- Design, develop, train, tune, and validate ML models for:
- Process performance monitoring
- Anomaly and deviation detection
- Quality prediction and root-cause analysis
- Predictive and prescriptive analytics within a Digital Twin framework
- Apply supervised, unsupervised, and time-series modeling techniques (exposure to reinforcement learning is a plus).
Model Deployment & MLOps
- Productionize ML models using Python-based pipelines and cloud-native services.
- Implement MLOps best practices including model versioning, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
- Collaborate with platform and engineering teams to ensure scalable, reliable, and secure deployments.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, ML modeling, and automation.
- Hands-on experience across the entire ML lifecycle (data modeling deployment monitoring).
- Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, evaluation metrics, and real-world deployment challenges.
- Ability to work independently, self-driven, and confidently in customer-facing roles.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives.
Nice to Have
- Experience with manufacturing, industrial IoT, or sensor data.
- Exposure to reinforcement learning or advanced optimization techniques.
- Experience working on Digital Twin or Industry 4.0 initiatives.
