Position: AI Engineer
Location: Trivandrum/Kochi/Chennai/Bangalore
Job Summary
We are seeking a talented AI Engineer to join our Data & AI Center of Excellence. You will join to build AI-first capabilities across IBS products and customer solutions, spanning machine learning, Generative AI, and agentic automation. In details, you will work on cutting-edge AI solutions that transform the travel industry, air cargo operations, developing intelligent systems that optimize route planning, enhance efficiency, improve predictive analytics, and enable autonomous decision-making across our products.
Key Responsibilities:
AI Model Development & Implementation:
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for cargo management systems including demand forecasting, route optimization, and dynamic pricing
- Implement natural language processing solutions for documentation and customer service automation
- Develop predictive analytics models for maintenance scheduling, capacity planning, and supply chain optimization
GenAI and Agentic Systems
- Design, implement, and orchestrate agentic workflows (single- and multi-agent) using tools, function calling, and structured outputs for enterprise-grade tasks.
- Build production LLM applications (assistants, copilots, planners/executors) with memory, tool integration, guardrails, and policy controls.
Platform Integration & MLOps:
- Integrate AI solutions into the product using modern cloud architecture
- Implement MLOps practices including model versioning, continuous integration/deployment, and monitoring
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to embed AI capabilities into existing product workflows
- Build and maintain AI pipelines for data preprocessing, model training, and real-time inference
Research & Innovation:
- Stay current with latest AI/ML research and evaluate emerging technologies for travel industry
- Prototype innovative AI solutions for complex cargo/flight/travel challenges
- Participate in the development of responsible AI practices and ethical AI implementation
- Contribute to patent applications and technical publications
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with product managers, domain experts, and customers to understand business requirements
- Provide technical guidance to development teams on AI implementation strategies
- Present AI solutions and results to stakeholders across different technical levels
- Contribute to PoCs, architecture patterns, and internal accelerators; create high-quality documentation and runbooks.
- Support sales and customer success teams with AI-related demonstrations and technical discussions
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related technical field
- Strong academic background in mathematics, statistics, and algorithms
Technical Skills:
- Programming: Proficient in Python
- ML Frameworks: Hands-on experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or similar frameworks
- Data Management: Strong SQL skills and experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop)
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud AI/ML services
- Mathematics: Solid understanding of linear algebra, statistics, probability, and optimization
- Hands-on GenAI: context engineering, RAG, tool/function calling, structured outputs (JSON Schema), and evaluation.
- Orchestration and agents: LangGraph, LangChain (or equivalent), plannerexecutor patterns, function/tool calling, and multi-agent designs.
- (Nice to have) MLOps Tools: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow, or similar deployment tools, monitoring, and tracing.
Experience:
- 3-7 years of experience in machine learning engineering or AI development
- Proven track record of deploying ML models in production environments
- Experience with real-time data processing and streaming analytics is preferred
- Background in logistics, supply chain, or transportation/travel industry is advantageous
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialized AI: Experience with NLP, time series forecasting, GenAI, Agentic, or reinforcement learning.
Nice to have: Understanding of air cargo operations, flight optimization, or revenue management or previous work in aviation, logistics, or transportation technology
