Zoid is a high-tech R&D startup devoted to developing cutting-edge technologies in the Defence and Aerospace sector. We primarily deliver customized solutions to the Indian Armed Forces, leveraging our expertise in AI, Electronics, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, and Robotics. 

Currently funded by the iDEX initiative under the Ministry of Defence, India, we are working on projects of strategic national importance, including: 

• AI-based FOD detection software for Naval Air Stations 
• Reusable Off-board Missile Decoys for Anti-Ship Missile Defense 

Alongside defence projects, the following commercial products and intellectual property are under development: 

• GNSS Denied Navigation Suite 
• Aerial Intelligent Mapping Suite 
• Vision-based Kinetic Strike Solution 

Our young and passionate team has previously collaborated with industry leaders such as Lockheed Martin, Adani Defence, and Alpha Design to deliver solutions to the IAF and Indian Army. 

Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you will manage end-to-end accounting operations, ensure statutory compliance, and support financial planning for a defence-tech startup. This is a hands-on role where your work will directly contribute to building a financially robust organization working on projects of national significance. 

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update all bills, invoices, and purchase orders (POs), experience in P2P with proper documentation and filing. 
• Perform inventory management and verification on timely basis and FAR management. 
• Ensure timely vendor payments, monitor outstanding dues, and reconcile statements. Knowledge of the process of foreign payment. 
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations using Tally Prime. 
• Handle entries for sales, purchases, expenses, bank transactions, and journal vouchers. 
• Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and ledgers. 
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements  and strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and other tax filings. 
• Good understanding and working knowledge of PF and ESI. 
• Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure smooth handling of payments, cheques, and online transactions. 

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 

Required Skills & Tools

• Proficiency in Tally Prime and MS Excel or similar accounting tools. 
• Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills for data entry, reconciliation, and reporting. 
• Familiarity with GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and other statutory compliances. 
• Strong financial analysis skills to identify discrepancies and resolve issues. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Hindi. 
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities independently. 
• Familiarity with payroll, invoicing, and contract management.  

Good to Have

• Prior experience in a startup, R&D firm, manufacturing or defence/aerospace organization. 
• Prior experience in vendor management.
