Position Overview
As a Sr. Accountant within Accounting & Statutory Compliance team you will be assigned a portfolio of legal entities for accounting, annual statutory audit, annual local financial statements filing, tax accounting and supporting merger & acquisition integration and deregistration. You will be part of the team responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining an effective and efficient framework of operational accounting and statutory compliance with established company policies, generally accepted accounting principles and local regulations.
As a key member, you will work closely with the corporate accounting team, Tax, PTP, FBPs, external auditors and outsourced accounting firms. You must demonstrate independence, teamwork, accountability, good business judgment and the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and possess excellent planning, execution, interpersonal and project management skills.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the timely preparation/review/ filing of local statutory financial statements for a portfolio of entities
Support or lead local statutory audit and tax requirements
Coordinate with outsourced accounting firms and other internal department management on statutory audit questions and financial statements requirements. (Internal departments include Revenue Accounting, Payroll, PTP, FBP, Tax and Legal)
Provide technical support on current accounting standards (such as IFRS) and local statutory requirements that have an impact on accounting operations
Provide accounting information to support local and US GAAP tax requirements
Support external tax audits or investigations
Analyse and explains permanent and temporary differences between US GAAP and Local GAAP
Facilitates, follow-ups and remediates weaknesses identified in statutory and tax audits
Work closely with Corporate Accounting and outsourced accounting firms to meet month-end financial close within specified timelines.
Ensures US GAAP, local financial reports and tax returns are reconciled with appropriate accounting entries reflected in the accounting recording system (SAP)
Support merger & acquisition integration and deregistration
Takes on ad-hoc projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
+4 years PQE practice and/or industry in finance /accounting team
Qualified CPA, CA or equivalent
Experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting, General Ledger and/or in a Shared Service environment is preferable
US GAAP knowledge and experience in an international and multi-currency environment
Working experience with ERP systems. SAP and Excel experience an advantage
Organizational, team-work and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently, self-starter and results-oriented
Proven ability to influence others, build consensus, and resolve conflicts
Detailed oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, organized and thorough with desire for continuous improvement and growth
Flexibility to support peak periods, including overlap with us/US time zones
