About the Role:
Zywave, Inc., a leading Insurtech SaaS provider, is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to lead key functions in revenue accounting, accounts receivable ledger close, and cash reconciliation. This Pune, India based role is a key role on the Company's Global Corporate Accounting team. This role will help ensure the integrity of financial reporting and support the company's financial operations through accurate and timely reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute on month-end close activities related to revenue accounts.
- Prepare account reconciliations and journal entries for revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable (including bad debt analysis), as well as non-revenue related assigned accounts.
- Identify and implement process improvements, including automation using AI-powered tools and bots.
- Assist with audit requests and ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and accounting standards.
Essential Tasks:
Revenue Accounting: Ensure accurate revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606, including the preparation and review of revenue and deferred revenue journal entries and related reconciliations during the month-end close process. Will collaborate with business leaders to confirm that revenue is recorded correctly and aligns with internal policies.
Review internal revenue reporting, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure compliance and data integrity. Additionally, the position focuses on driving continuous improvement in the revenue recognition processes and supporting documentation to enhance financial reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
Cash Accounting: Oversee weekly and monthly cash reconciliation across multiple bank accounts and customer receipts and vendor payment platforms. This includes collaborating with the customer receivables department to investigate and resolve unapplied or unrecorded customer receipts.
Accounts Receivable Accounting: Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of accounts receivable balances, facilitating the write-off of bad debts in the revenue subledger systems and preparation of credit and bad debt allowances.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com), specifically in Accounting & Finance (BAF) or USA bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Indian Chartered Accountancy (CA) or USA Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- Solid understanding of ASC 606 and SaaS revenue models.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on revenue and reconciliations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with the following systems is a plus:
- Sage Intacct.
- Microsoft Office & Related Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Power BI).
- Salesforce and Salesforce Billing
