Senior Accountant (Norwegian Accounting)

Mantras2success Consultants is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dedicated Norwegian accounting team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Norwegian GAAP, VAT regulations, and local compliance requirements. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounting processes, preparing financial statements, handling VAT filings, and supporting audits for our diverse Norwegian clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounting Management: Manage the day-to-day accounting operations for clients based in Norway.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and meticulously review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Compliance & Regulations: Ensure strict compliance with Norwegian accounting and tax regulations.
• VAT Handling: Perform accurate VAT calculations and submit timely VAT returns.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise effectively with auditors, tax authorities, and other external stakeholders.
• Period-End Closures: Support efficient month-end and year-end close processes.
• Reconciliation & Accuracy: Reconcile accounts and maintain the accuracy of the general ledger.
• Team Guidance: Review the work of junior accountants and provide constructive guidance.
• Process Improvement: Assist in continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting workflows.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably with Norway or Nordic region exposure.
• Norwegian Expertise: Strong knowledge of Norwegian GAAP and VAT regulations.
• Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting software such as SAP, Xero, or Visma (preferred).
• Analytical Skills: Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with international teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with European clients.
• Knowledge of IFRS is a significant plus.
• Familiarity with automation tools or ERP systems.
